PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lamp socket capable of easily loading and unloading a straight-tube type lamp while retaining it in a simple structure as well as a lighting system.SOLUTION: A socket body 5 is provided with a pair of parallel linear grooves 5c, 5c provided along toward a center part side of the socket body 5 from at least one side of the right and left side walls 6a of an outer periphery walls of the socket body 5 on the one surface 5a side with which a first base part of the straight-tube type lamp can be in contact, the outer periphery wall side of each linear groove part 5c, 5c making up first insertion inlets 2a, 2a for letting two first lamp pins protruded from the fist base part of the straight-tube type lamp inserted into.
