摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber transmission device and an optical fiber transmission method of a short optical pulse, which are capable of efficiently transmitting a short optical pulse with a high peak power so as to obtain the short optical pulse with a high peak power at a desired position of an optical device and have high flexibility in arrangement. <P>SOLUTION: An optical fiber transmission device of a short optical pulse includes: a chirp pulse source 10 which emits an up-chirp short optical pulse with a high peak power; light guide means 20 which transmits the short optical pulse emitted from the chirp pulse source 10; negative group velocity dispersion generation means 30 which gives negative group velocity dispersion to the short optical pulse emitted from the light guide means 20; and an optical fiber 40 for transmitting the short optical pulse emitted from the negative group velocity dispersion generation means 30, for a desired distance. The short optical pulse emitted from the chirp pulse source 10 is emitted from the optical fiber 40 as a down-chirp short optical pulse which does not substantially include waveform distortion due to higher order dispersion. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p>
