Provided is a technique capable of efficient comprehensive management of a system, even if the system is a large-scale storage system. Management software acquires configuration information of a storage system (computer system) in two stages. In a first stage, the management software acquires only basic information of resources (identifiers of resources, the number of resources, and relationship between the resources) included in storage subsystems, host computers, switches, hubs, and the like. The management software determines a range and timing of acquiring detailed configuration information and necessity of holding the detailed configuration information based on the acquired basic information. In a second stage, the management software acquires the detailed configuration information of an appropriate range at appropriate timing. The management software always holds the basic information, but holds the detailed information only necessary to hold.

1. A computer system comprising:
a storage device comprising a physical resource and a storage region constituted by the physical resource; a host computer comprising a storage region allocated from the storage device; and a management computer configured to manage the storage device and the host computer and storing an acquisition rule, wherein the acquisition rule includes a plurality of acquisition conditions and a plurality of acquisition methods corresponding to the acquisition conditions, and wherein the management computer is configured to:
acquire a basic configuration information which does not change as the computer system is operated;determine whether a component of the computer system satisfies each of the plurality of acquisition conditions; andacquire, in response to the determination that there is a component that satisfies each of the plurality of acquisition conditions, a detailed configuration information which changes as the system is operated in accordance with a method and a range described in each acquisition method of the acquisition rule.
