1. A charger to apply a charge to an object, comprising:
an electron emitter including:
an electroconductive substrate; anda layer of n-type hexagonal boron nitride codoped with magnesium and oxygen atoms, which is located on the electroconductive substrate, wherein a concentration of oxygen atoms in the layer of n-type hexagonal boron nitride codoped with magnesium and oxygen atoms is higher than a concentration of magnesium atoms in the layer, wherein the layer of n-type hexagonal boron nitride codoped with magnesium and oxygen atoms is located on a surface of the electroconductive substrate while having projections, and wherein the electron emitter further includes:
an insulator layer located on a surface of the layer of n-type hexagonal boron nitride codoped with magnesium and oxygen atoms in such a manner as to surround the projections of the layer of n-type hexagonal boron nitride codoped with magnesium and oxygen atoms; anda gate electrode located on the insulator layer. |
