<p>The invention relates to a process for eliminating heavy metals from sewage sludge from industrial or municipal systems, comprising the steps of: a) supplying sewage sludge to a reduction stage, in which with absence of oxygen under reducing conditions at temperatures between 500° to 1100° there is a pyrolysis, producing products including high-energy gases and phosphate-containing sewage-sludge coke, and b) afterburning the sewage-sludge coke produced in step a) in an oxidation stage under oxidizing conditions, producing an inorganic residue composed of alkaline earth metal carbonates and alkaline earth metal oxides and also alkaline earth metal phosphates.</p> |
