The present invention relates to a design system and a method using ship information and, more specifically, to a design system and a method using ship information, constructing ship information database and editing and designing an area of an engine room by using information stored in the ship information database. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the design system using the ship information includes: an input unit inputted with a search condition for searching the ship information to be read by a user; a searching unit searching the ship information to be read from the ship information database according to the search condition; a display unit displaying the searched ship information to be read; and a design unit editing and designing a ship by using the searched ship information to be read.
