receiving data corresponding to a current of a spindle motor of a drive; determining whether a change in a temperature of the drive has occurred based on a pre-determined relationship between the temperature and the data; and modifying one or more parameters of a head unit of the drive in response to the determination of the change in the environment of the drive.
