PROPULSION APPARATUS FOR SHIP

The present invention relates to a propulsion apparatus for a ship. The propulsion apparatus for the ship includes: a contra-rotating propeller comprising a rear propeller and a front propeller; an inversion rotation device rotating the front propeller in the opposite direction to a rotation direction of the rear propeller; an integrated inner shaft wherein the rear end is combined with the rear propeller and the front end is combined with a driving shaft of a power source; and an outer shaft comprising a first outer shaft wherein the rear end is combined with the front propeller and the front end is connected to the inversion rotation device, and a second outer shaft wherein the rear end is connected to the inversion rotation device and the front end is connected to the driving shaft. The inversion rotation device includes: a driving gear including a cylindrical worm gear engaged with the second outer shaft; a driven gear including the cylindrical worm gear engaged with the first outer shaft; and an inversion gear engaged with the driven gear and the driving gear. According to the present invention, the inversion rotation device is fixed to a partition of a hull so that the length of the inner shaft and outer shaft is reduced and the inner shaft can be manufactured in an integration type. The present invention has effects such as simplifying a structure of the propulsion device, reducing the weight of the propulsion due to the reduction of the weight of the propulsion device, expanding an inner space of an engine room, securing reliability of shafting, and reducing installation costs and a manufacturing cost per unit.
