The present invention relates to a safety device for a platform, capable of locking a door, and a control method thereof. The safety device for the platform includes: a pillar unit including pillars installed to face each other at fixed intervals; a door unit including at least a door installed to move upward and backward by crossing the pillars; and an opening and closing unit including a hanging ring unit with a hanging ring individually installed on both sides of the door and a latch unit with a latch individually installed on the upper part and the lower part of the pillar. When the door moves upward or downward to be opened and closed, the hanging ring and the latch are coupled to each other or are unlocked from each other through a solenoid so that the door is fixed. |
