342,639. Maintaining denned speeds of A.C. motors. INTERNATIONAL GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Inc., 120, Broadway, New York, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Allgemeine Elektricitõts.Ges.; 2, Friedrich Karl Ufer, Berlin.) June 12, 1930, No. 18080. Convention date, June 12, 1929. [Class 38 (iii).] Induction motors M are started in synchronism with a common rotor resistance W. During normal running this resistance is short-circuited and the required speed ratio is maintained by individual rotor resistances R which may be controlled by differential mechanisms D, or by the loop of material between machines, which are treating the material and are driven by the motors. The stator supply to the motors may be derived from a frequency converter.
|
