A method for transmitting an image to a receiver including a head-mounted display (HMD) through a network, comprises the following steps: determining one or more from a transmitter to transmit wide viewing angle image data, and a receiver including an HMD to receive the wide viewing angle image data based on information stored in a user device or a relay server; and transmitting the wide viewing angle image data to the receiver from the transmitter through a transmission channel using a wide area network. Accordingly, a transmitter or receiver of the image can select the transmitter or receiver by using a local phonebook stored in his/her user device, or a user address list or publication information which is stored in a communications service server such as an SNS, a messenger service, a website, etc., thereby freely transmitting the image to the receiver even in a peer-to-peer method between users. |
