The present invention relates to an artificial respiratory device for strengthening respiratory muscle, which allows a continuous use of respiratory muscles while using a respirator, and to an operation method thereof. The respirator transmits signals either with or without a wire by generating an inhalation-initiating signal in response to a point of inhalation initiation when a patient breathes in, or by generating an exhalation-initiating signal in response to a point of exhalation initiation when the patient breathes out. In addition, an electrical neuromuscle stimulator is installed on the respiratory muscle of the patient, thereby stimulating the respiratory muscle in response to the inhalation or exhalation initiating signals transmitted from the respirator through either with or without the wire.
