TURNING TOOL HOLDER AND CUTTING TOOL INSERT

A turning tool holder (2) is disclosed. The turning tool holder according to the present invention comprises a tool body (4), a cutting tool insert (6), and a shim (8). A coolant conduit system is extended through the turning tool holder (2). A first portion of the coolant conduit system is extended through the tool body (4), and an end of the coolant conduit system is extended through the shim (8). The end of the coolant conduit system comprises a through hole extended from a first surface of the shim (8) to a second surface of the shim (8) opposite to the first surface. The end comprises a coolant outlet opening (12) on the second surface. The coolant outlet opening (12) is formed by the shim (8) alone. A coolant jet from the coolant outlet opening (12) can be directed towards a space expected to include a cutting space of a workpiece. In addition, a cutting tool insert (6) to be used in the turning tool holder (2) is disclosed.
