A packing sheet (1) for packaging a cheese product. The packing sheet contains an internal membrane (5) comprising at least one internal plastic layer (7) and at least one water absorbing layer (12). The packaging sheet also comprises an external surface (10). Each internal plastic membrane has a plurality of micro-perforations (8, 9), which are arranged in a random fashion. The perforations are created in such a manner that the internal membrane has a permeability of between 5 and 500 mL/min Bendtsen. The water absorbing layer comprising a water absorbing material with a water absorption rate between 1 and 30 g/m2, as measured using the COBB test, C3600. The external surface is suitable for printing on. The packing sheet draws water droplets that form on the external surface of the cheese and absorbs them. This action extends the conservation time of the cheese, especially Camembert type soft cheese. |
