PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oral composition for whitening teeth.SOLUTION: A single phase whitening dentifrice comprises (i) a bound peroxide including hydrogen peroxide complexed with cross-linked polyvinyl pyrrolidone, (ii) an abrasive and (iii) an orally acceptable carrier. The carrier includes a polyethylene glycol/ethylene oxide copolymer or ethylene oxide/propylene oxide copolymer.
