Methods for presenting document changes including providing an interactive timeline. The interactive timeline allows a user to select and view various states or versions of a document. In particular, the interactive timeline provide a chronological order of changes or modifications to the document. Reviewers can quickly and easily follow the lifecycle of the document based on the information presented in the interactive timeline.

identifying changes made to a document; providing, within a graphical user interface, an interactive timeline comprising a control; detecting a position of the control in the interactive timeline; determining, by at least one processor, a state of the document at a time corresponding to the position of the control; and providing, within the graphical user interface, a view of the state of the document at the time corresponding to the position of the control.
