1. A composition comprising:(A) a catalytically effective amount of a catalytically active reaction product of a reaction of ingredients comprising
Ingredient i), a metal precursor of general formula M-Aa, where M is one metal atom selected from the group consisting of Al, Bi, Ni, Ti, Mn, Fe, Co, Cu, Zn, Ga, Ge, Y, Mo, Zr, Hf, Ce, Nd, Sm, Er, and Yb, each A is independently a displaceable substituent, and subscript a is 1 to maximum valence number of the metal atom selected for M; and Ingredient ii), a ligand selected from the group consisting of ligands of general formulae (i), (iii), (iv), (v) and combinations of two or more thereof, where
general formula (i) is where each dashed line represents either a single bond or a double bond, R1 and R2 are each independently selected from a monovalent organic group and an inorganic group; each R3 is independently selected from H, a monovalent organic group, an inorganic group, and a halogen; subscript b is 1 or 2; each R20 is independently H or a monovalent organic group; subscript c is 0 or 1; subscript o is 1 or 2; and each R21 is independently H or a monovalent organic group;general formula (iii) is where R7 and R8 are each independently selected from a monovalent organic group and an inorganic group, R9 and R10 are each independently selected from H, a monovalent organic group and an inorganic group, subscript d and subscript e are each independently 1 or 2, each R32 is independently H or a monovalent organic group, and subscript p is 1 or 2;general formula (iv) is where R11 and R12 are each independently selected from a monovalent organic group and an inorganic group, R22 and R23 are each independently selected from H and a monovalent organic group, subscript f and subscript g are each independently 0 or 1, each R31 is independently H or a monovalent organic group, and subscript q is 1 or 2;general formula (v) is where R13 and R14 are each independently selected from a monovalent organic group and an inorganic group, each R24 and each R25 are each independently selected from a monovalent organic group and H, subscript h and subscript i are each independently 0 or 1, each R33 is independently selected from a monovalent organic group and H, and subscript k is 1 or 2; and(B) a silicon containing base polymer having an average, per molecule, of one or more hydrolyzable substituents;
where ingredient (A) catalyzes condensation reaction of the hydrolyzable groups on ingredient (B). |
