Disclosed are a terminal fast dormancy starting method and terminal, the method comprising: a terminal receives a display screen triggering event, and sets a preset time period according to the display screen triggering event; determining whether data transmission is required in the preset time period; and if not, transmitting to a network a signalling connection release indication (SCRI) instruction, and starting a fast dormancy function. The present invention effectively triggers a fast dormancy function, and reduces the power consumption of a terminal. |
