PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bed structure with a deck section motion converter, and a method and system for controlling evaporative and heat withdrawal performance of a user support surface.SOLUTION: The bed structure includes a motion converter for moving a panel relative to a deck framework in response to at least one of the relative parallel motion between the deck framework and a frame and the relative rotation of the deck framework and the frame. Also, the method comprises: specifying a desired evaporative rate greater than an evaporative rate achievable with unconditioned ambient air; chilling the unconditioned ambient air to a temperature at least as low as that required to achieve a relative humidity of 100%, thereby dehumidifying the air; and supplying the chilled, dehumidified air to a flow path. |
