摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat shielding material which can allow heat shielding properties thereof to be made excellent even if a metal is not used therein and which can keep transmissivity of visible light and an electromagnetic wave.SOLUTION: The heat shielding material has a structure containing: particles each having 90-350 nm average particle size; and 1.0-2.5 refractive index n; and a compound having 1.05-1.9 refractive index n. The refractive index nof the particle is made different from that nof the compound. The structure reflects the light having a specific wavelength in a wavelength range of 780-1,200 nm. The reflection-peak wavelength λis calculated by using: an incident angle &thetas; of the light made incident on the surface of the structure; the average interparticle distance among the particles in the depth direction from the surface of the structure; and the average reflective index nof the structure. The reflection-peak wavelength λof the reflected light, which is reflected from the structure, when light is made incident on the surface thereof, and has the maximum reflective index, is measured. The calculated reflection-peak wavelength λand the measured reflection-peak wavelength λsatisfy a relationship shown by a specific expression. The heat shielding material has 50% or higher visible light transmittance.
