PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact image projection device capable of reducing axial chromatic aberration.SOLUTION: The image projection device includes light modulation means for modulating illumination light emitted from a light source and deflecting it in a first or second direction, a projection optical system for projecting projection light, and an optical member for guiding the illumination light to the light modulation means and guiding the illumination light modulated by the light modulation means and deflected in the first direction to the projection optical system as the projection light. The optical member includes a first prism group and a second prism group. One of the first prism group and the second prism group is configured so as to guide the illumination light to the light modulation means and transmit the illumination light deflected in the first direction. The other of the first prism group and the second prism group is configured so as to transmit the illumination light deflected in the first direction and totally reflect the illumination light deflected in the second direction. The characteristics of the first prism group and the second prism group are different from each other. |
