1. A driving assist device that calculates a target traveling state of a vehicle on the basis of a traveling environment of the vehicle and performs driving assist control for the vehicle such that the traveling state of the vehicle is close to the target traveling state, comprising:
a driving operation detection unit configured to detect a driving operation of a driver for the vehicle; a driving skill evaluation unit configured to evaluate a driving skill of the driver on the basis of a history of the driving operation of the driver detected by the driving operation detection unit; and a driving assist control unit configured to perform the driving assist control for the vehicle on the basis of the traveling state of the vehicle and the target traveling state, wherein, when the driving operation detection unit detects the driving operation of the driver during the driving assist control, the driving assist control unit limits the amount of driving assist control for the vehicle according to the driving skill of the driver evaluated by the driving skill evaluation unit and reflects the driving operation amount of the driver in traveling control for the vehicle.
