PROCESS FOR PRODUCING COKE, COKE, AND METHOD FOR EVALUATING HOMOGENEITY OF COAL BLEND

A purpose of the present invention is to provide coke which has high strength and excellent extrudability from the coke oven and a process for producing the coke. Also provided is an evaluation method for quantitatively evaluating the homogeneity of a coal blend. When stirring and mixing a coal blend, use is made of a mixer whereby the degree of mixing defined by equation (1) is 0.85 or greater at 60 seconds after initiation of the stirring and mixing. Due to this, pseudo-particles of the coal blend can be disaggregated to make the coal blend homogeneous, and coke excellent in terms of coke strength and extrudability can hence be produced. Degree of mixing = (σC0-σC)/(σC0-σCf) (1) Here, the degree of mixing is a value obtained by taking samples out of a coal blend which has been stirred and mixed, examining the samples for a property, and calculating the degree of mixing from the standard deviation of the property of the samples. σC0 is the standard deviation of the property of the coal blend which has not been mixed at all, σCf is the standard deviation of the property of the coal blend which has been completely mixed, and σC is the standard deviation of the property of the samples taken out.
