The invention relates to a thread having a varying thread diameter, comprising a) longitudinal thread segments, along which the thread diameter is constant or substantially constant, and b) longitudinal thread segments along which the thread diameter varies, wherein longitudinal thread segments a) are longer than longitudinal thread segments b). The invention further relates to a method for producing a thread, comprising the following steps: i) coextruding a thread core component and a sheath component from a shaping outlet opening of an extrusion device and thus forming an intermediate thread having a thread core and having a sheath surrounding the thread core, and ii) removing the sheath from the thread core, wherein during the performance of step i) the mass throughput of the thread core component and preferably of the sheath component is varied and/or the intermediate thread is drawn off at a varying speed after exiting from the outlet opening. The invention further relates to a method for producing a thread, comprising the following steps: i) extruding a thread polymer from a shaping outlet opening of an extrusion device and thus forming an intermediate thread, and ii) producing anchoring structures on the intermediate thread, wherein during the performance of step i) the mass throughput of the thread polymer is varied and/or the intermediate thread is drawn off at a varying speed after exiting from the outlet opening. The invention further relates to a thread having a thread diameter that varies in a longitudinal direction of the thread, which thread diameter is or can be produced according to one of the two methods mentioned above. Furthermore, the invention relates to a thread having a thread diameter that varies in a longitudinal direction of the thread, wherein the thread is a thread core of a core-sheath thread from which the sheath has been removed. In addition, the invention relates to a medical product, and to a kit, in particular in the form of a needle/thread combination. |
