PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a bath mat which speedily absorbs water, prevents an absorption speed from decreasing due to a continuous use, and speedily dries.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the bath mat in the present invention pertains to a manufacturing method of a bath mat constituted with an inorganic molded plate, the method comprising: a step 1 for obtaining an aqueous slurry that contains a calcium silicate secondary particle by a hydrothermal reaction, through stirring, of a material slurry that contains a calcareous material, a silicate material, and water; and a step 2 for obtaining the inorganic molded plate by dehydration molding the aqueous slurry obtained in the step 1. The bath mat obtained by said manufacturing method contains a secondary particle of a crystal of the calcium silicate and/or an inorganic molded plate formed with the compressively deformed secondary particle, the inorganic molded plate having a bulk density of 0.2-0.7 g/cm. |
