A serial number detecting unit (11a) transmits a first digit detecting instruction to a plurality of indoor devices (21-24) with multiple addressing and, when there is no response to the detecting instruction, the serial number detecting unit (11a) transmits an instruction to request a second digit, one digit before the first digit, to a plurality of indoor devices (21-24) with multiple addressing. That is, without returning to the original digit of the serial number, the address setting is redone from its one previous digit, so that address setting can be shortened. Further, when the address setting is carried out from the one previous digit and if a method for recognizing detecting instructions in the indoor devices (21-24) is changed, the address setting can be done more accurately.
