PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid transfer device and method of use for transferring a precise amount of fluid from a supply container to a target container.SOLUTION: Fluid is first transferred from a supply container (a small container) through a connector 3910 to an intermediate measuring container (a syringe 3912). Air can pass through an air inflow part and enter the small container to compensate for the volume of fluid withdrawn from the small container. An air check valve, a bag, or a filter can prevent the fluid from escaping through the air inflow part. Then, the precisely measured amount of fluid can be transferred from the intermediate measuring container to a target container (e.g., an IV bag). The connector includes a supply check valve and a target check valve to direct fluid first from the supply container to the intermediate measuring container and then from the intermediate measuring container to the target container. This device includes a motor and a controller for automatically actuating a plunger of the syringe to transfer a desired amount of fluid. |
