PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pseudo HDR image estimation device and method capable of generating an image similar to an image captured by a camera of a high dynamic range, in real time while using a camera of a low dynamic range.SOLUTION: A pseudo HDR image estimation device 10 includes an illumination basic information storage section 31 for storing an illumination estimate matrix, and an image is acquired that is captured by using the camera of the LDR at an imaging place of which the illumination estimate matrix is calculated beforehand. An intensity of an illumination at the imaging place is estimated on the basis of a luminance value of a pixel in an LDR region where luminance values of pixels are equal to or smaller than a predetermined luminance value, among pixels constituting the acquired image, and the illumination estimate matrix calculated beforehand. On the basis of the estimated intensity of the illumination, a luminance value of a pixel in any other region than the LDR region is calculated, and an image is generated in which the luminance values of pixels in the LDR region and the other region than the LDR region are adjusted on the basis of the calculated luminance value. |
