PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phenolic resin, an epoxy resin, and an epoxy resin composition making it possible to provide a cured product having excellent heat resistance, flame retardancy and water absorption properties.SOLUTION: A phenolic resin is obtained by a reaction between: a phenolic compound having a benzopyran structure represented by formula (2) obtained by a reaction between dihydroxynaphthalene and aldehyde or ketone; and at least one selected from aldehyde, ketone, and a ring-containing organic compound. (Rand Rindependently represent H, a C1-6 alkyl group, a C1-6 alkoxy group, a hydroxyl group, a methoxy group, an ethoxy group, a nitro group, a nitrile group, an amino group, a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group, or a naphthyl group; and k is an integer of 0-4.) |
