PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a change and addition of a function to be easily performed by utilizing a configuration where an external storage medium can be mounted thereto.SOLUTION: A printer 2 comprises: a read/write section 16 being configured so as to allow an external storage medium GK storing an external user-land UL2 to be mounted thereto and performing reading and writing of the external storage medium GK mounted thereto; a second memory 15 storing an internal user-land UL1; and a control section 9 activating a kernel CN, subsequently, determining whether or not the external storage medium GK is mounted to the read/write section 16, bringing the external user-land UL2 stored by the external storage medium GK into an executable state when the external storage medium GK is mounted thereto and bringing the internal user-land UL1 stored by the second memory 15 into the executable state when the external storage medium GK is not mounted thereto at the time of activation of the printer 2. |
