PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of VCXO arranged by use of quartz crystal that VCXO has the difficulty in coping with a wider band which would be required in future because of the physical limit of a frequency variable width, and the problem of an increasing current consumption owing to the increase in equivalent series resonant resistance (CI value) of a vibrator used, which accompanies the downsizing of a device and the increase in frequency.SOLUTION: A piezoelectric vibrator comprises: a vibration plate 101 formed from Ca(TaNb)(GaAl)SiOmonocrystalline (where 0<x≤1, and 0≤y≤1). The vibration plate 101 is carved out at an angle in a range of &thetas;=15-35° with respect to XZ-plane of the Ca(TaNb)(GaAl)SiOmonocrystalline (where 0<x≤1 and 0≤y≤1) around X-axis; an electrode 102 formed on the main surface of the plate-like vibration plate 101; and an electrode 103 formed on the backside of the vibration plate 101. The piezoelectric vibrator is operated by applying predetermined signals to the electrodes. |
