Provided is a method for preparing a polyolefin composite separator, comprising: methyl methacrylate (MMA) and γ-methacryloxy propyltriethoxysilane (TEPM) are polymerized in proportion to form a copolymer; said copolymer and polyvinylidene fluoride (PVdF) are dissolved in a first solvent to form a first solution; a polyolefin porous separator is provided, and said polyolefin porous separator is immersed in a second solvent and infiltrated; at least one surface of the polyolefin porous separator infiltrated with the second solvent is coated with said first solvent; the polyolefin porous separator coated with the first solvent is dipped into a third solvent for perforation, thus forming a gel polymer electrolyte prefabricated layer at the surface of said polyolefin porous separator; the polyolefin porous separator having the gel polymer electrolyte prefabricated layer is fumigated in an atmosphere of hydrochloric acid. The present invention also relates to a polyolefin composite separator and a lithium-ion battery.
