The present invention relates to a method for the adaptation of the speed of a vehicle when taking a curve. The method comprises the step to control (S1 ) the speed of the vehicle and in this case limit the increase of a maximum permitted instantaneous speed based on the rate of change of angle of the steering wheel position in such a manner that the increase to a determined extent is allowed only when the rate of change of angle has fallen below a predetermined value. The present invention relates also to a system for the adaptation of the speed of a vehicle when taking a curve. The present invention relates also to a motor vehicle.
