PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To activate a social game and a platform for providing the game by strengthening a motivation to transmit invitation information for inviting other players to the social game.SOLUTION: A method for controlling a server connected to a terminal operated by a player through a communication line to provide a game in which a plurality of players can participate includes: a transmission step for transmitting invitation information including specific information which specifies a landing page to be related to a game and which is associated with identification information for identifying a player operating a first terminal, to a second terminal in response to an instruction from the first terminal; an acquisition step for acquiring the identification information from the second terminal when a player of the second terminal achieves a specific item which has been previously determined in the game and is satisfied by progressing the game; and an incentive giving step for, after the acquisition, giving an incentive to the player operating the first terminal by determining the player operating the first terminal by using the identification information.
