METHOD AND DEVICE FOR TREATING FLUORINE-CONTAINING WATER

A method for treating fluorine-containing water by a treatment with a column packed with particulate calcium carbonate and a treatment with crystallization, wherein the percentage removal of fluorine in each treatment is even higher than in conventional methods and the removed fluorine is efficiently recovered as calcium fluoride having an even higher purity. As the calcium carbonate particles to be packed into the column thereof, use is made of calcium carbonate particles having a particle diameter of 0.1 mm or smaller. The calcium-fluoride-containing particles obtained in the column packed with particulate calcium carbonate are used as fluorine-containing seed crystals for the fluorine removal by crystallization.
