A method and apparatus for repairing set top box configuration breakage refers to the technical field of multimedia terminals. The method includes the following steps: during the set top box starting period, determining whether the configuration in a configuration partition of the set top box is normal; when the set top box configuration is determined normal, writing the determined normal configuration into a configuration file to save, and continuing the starting procedure; when the set top box configuration is determined abnormal, using the configuration pre-saved in the configuration file to repair the configuration in the set top box configuration partition, and restarting the set top box. The technical scheme of the present invention automatically starts the configuration repairing procedure to repair the configuration by determining the configuration abnormal in the set top box configuration partition without the user's participation, which ensures the user enjoying the Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) service in time and effectively, reduces the set top box rebuilding and saves the operation cost. |
