A dung amount detecting method for a feeding farm. The method comprises: performing straight line division on a floor slide-resisting way in a feeding farm to obtain strip-shaped slide-resisting ways; setting a region of interest in a feeding farm monitoring image, and calculating the area A of the region of interest; calculating the length sum L of all slide-resisting lines in the region of interest; obtaining the total area D of a foreground region in the field monitoring image; detecting the length sum l of effective line segments of the slide-resisting lines that are not blocked in the region of interest; and calculating the area S blocked by dung in the field monitoring image according to the parameters. In the dung amount detecting method, the proportion of the floor covered by dung in the feeding farm is detected by using a real-time monitoring video, warning and clearing are carried out in a timely manner, and accordingly, the function of machine vision-based detection of the dung covering area of a feeding farm is achieved.
