PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a fenton reaction catalyst capable of stably retaining bivalent iron and also utilizable trivalent iron and metal iron as inexpensive iron feed raw materials in a state of being converted into bivalent iron, and harmless to the human body and environment.SOLUTION: Provided is a fenton reaction catalyst made of a reaction product obtained by mixing a specified reducible organic matter (plant body carbonized liquid component) and an iron feed raw material at a prescribed ratio in the presence of water as an active component. Also provided are a sterilization method, a contaminant decomposition method and a light emission method utilizing chemical light emission.
