The present technique relates to a reception apparatus, a reception method, a transmission apparatus and a transmission method whereby the use of broadcast resources by a particular application can be limited. Provided is a reception apparatus comprising: a control information acquisition unit that acquires first control information for controlling the operation of a first application capable of requesting the use of broadcast resources transmitted by use of digital broadcast signals; and an application control unit that, when the use of the broadcast resources is requested by the first application, controls, on the basis of the first control information, the use of the broadcast resources by the first application. The present technique can be applied to, for example, a television receiver. |
