[Problem] To provide a cooling method and a cooling device for cooling a coil with high performance and without causing rust. [Solution] This cooling method, for cooling a coiled hot-rolled steel plate arranged on a cooling bed after being wound into a coil by a winder arranged on a hot rolling line, is characterized in that a mist is sprayed as a cooling medium onto both end surfaces in the width direction of the coiled hot-rolled steel plate on the cooling bed to intermittently cool the coiled hot-rolled steel plate, and the combination of mist spraying times and stopping times is changed depending on the surface temperature of the coiled hot-rolled steel plate on the cooling bed. |
