PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cement dispersant which has excellent cement dispersibility and allows reduction of the environmental load and a cement composition containing it.SOLUTION: A cement dispersant contains an ingredient (C) which satisfies conditions A and B. Condition A: the ratio of heights of peaks present in the range of the weight average molecular weights of 20-150 to the height of the maximum peak, in measurement of the ingredient (C) by gel permeation chromatography (reference substance: polyethylene glycol), is lower than 3%. Condition B: the ratio of the heights of peaks present in the range of the weight average molecular weight of 20-150 to the height of the maximum peak, in measurement of the alkali-treated ingredient (C'), prepared by subjecting the ingredient (C) to an alkali treatment according to the saponification value measurement method, JIS K0070, by gel permeation chromatography (reference substance: polyethylene glycol), is 3-80%. |
