Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for calculating coordinates using a pattern recognition. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus for calculating coordinates using the pattern recognition includes: an image conversion unit which inserts a preset pattern frame into at least one frame of an original image; an image output unit which outputs the image where the pattern frame is inserted; a pattern recognition unit which obtains a part of the image outputted from the image output unit, and recognizes a unit pattern within the pattern frame from a part of the obtained image; and a coordinate calculation unit which calculates coordinates within the image outputted from the unit pattern recognized in the pattern recognition unit.
