Disclosed is a liquid crystal display apparatus which comprises: a backlight unit for individually outputting first color light having a first color during first and second fields which temporally divide a frame, and second color light having a second color different from the first color; a liquid crystal display panel including a first pixel having a first color filter having a third color, a second pixel having a second color filter having a fourth color, and a third pixel having a transmission unit, and equipped with a transmission unit cell gap having the size corresponding to the wavelength of the first color light; and a voltage compensation unit for compensating raw data voltage provided to the third pixel based on the transmission unit cell gap and the wavelength of the second color light, and outputting a compensation data voltage.
