A sheet metal portion (1) or a plate is heated to austenitizing temperature and is heat-formed. A projection (3) is formed in junction region of metal portion or plate, with a thickness which is higher than that of a flat portion (2) of metal portion. The heat-formed metal portion is cured and a recess (4) is formed in a region of flat portion. The projection is passed through recess, projected over flat portion and is heated to sufficient temperature such that the material which flows over recess is pressed against contact surface of metal portion in addition to pressed projection.
