An imaging lens is structured in small size and at low cost, and achieves a wide angle of view and high optical performance. The imaging lens consists of a first lens (L1) having a meniscus shape with its convex surface facing an object side and negative refractive power and second through fifth lenses (L2 through L5), at least one of the surfaces of each of which is aspherical. An image-side surface of the second lens (L2) has a concave shape facing an image side and the second lens (L2) has negative refractive power. An object-side surface of the third lens (L3) has a convex shape facing the object side and the third lens (L3) has positive refractive power. An image-side surface of the fourth lens (L4) has a convex shape facing the image side and the fourth lens (L4) has positive refractive power. The fifth lens (L5) has a meniscus shape with its convex surface facing the image side and negative refractive power. Predetermined conditional formulas about a combined paraxial focal length of the third lens (L3) and the fourth lens (L4), a distance on an optical axis from an obj ect-side surface of the first lens to an image plane, and a distance on the optical axis from the object-side surface of the first lens to the image-side surface of the second lens are satisfied.
|
