<p>The invention provides an electronic component installing device and a nozzle identification method used therein. In the nozzle identification of an installing head of multiple kinds of nozzles comprising an asymmetrically-shaped nozzle having a rotary asymmetrically planar shape about a nozzle axis, namely a pin maintaining nozzle,identification positional data is firstly stored and predefines an identification position of rotary direction position about the nozzle axis. Before the identification of the asymmetrically-shaped nozzle, an installing head is controlled based on the identification positional data such that the rotary direction position of the pin maintaining nozzle as an identifying object is consistent with the identification positional data corresponding to the pin maintaining nozzle. Thus, mistaken detection between adjacent nozzle position in the installing head can be eliminated, and the presence of the nozzle can be reliably detected by using the asymmetrically-shaped nozzle having a rotary asymmetrically planar shape as an object.</p> |
