351,445. Rocking chairs. KNABUSCH, E. M., Box 231, Greenfield Avenue, and SHOEMAKER, E. J., 312, Telegraph Road, both in Monroe, Michigan, U.S.A. Jan. 24, 1930, No. 2583. Convention date, Jan. 24, 1929. [Class 52 (ii).] In a chair comprising a seat 5 movable horizontally relatively to the chair frame and a back member 15 slidably mounted on a back frame 16 hinged at 17 to the seat, the back frame 16 is connected to the chair frame by links 20 while additional links 30 interconnect the members 5, 15, whereby the members 15, 16 are adapted to move angularly and downwardly together, and at the same time relatively to each other, as the seat is moved horizontally forward. The seat 5 is shown supported by links 7 and a return spring 35 may be provided. By this construction, dragging of the clothes of the user as the position of the chairback and seat is altered is avoided. |
