A turbine engine optical system (80) includes a plurality of viewing ports (82) in an engine case (70) that are circumferentially spaced from one-another. At least one optical device (84) is optically coupled to the ports (82) for viewing an internal chamber (68) defined by the engine case (70) and for depicting at least spatial temperature distributions. The chamber (68) may be an exhaust chamber (68) and the controller (90) may have the capability to correlate events in the exhaust chamber (68) to events in an upstream combustor chamber (56) and may thereby adjust operating parameters of a fuel system of the combustor (56). |
