The present invention relates to an optical system for a head-mounted display. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the optical system for a head-mounted display includes: a display unit which is arranged on an inner side of a leg area of a frame of glasses, and provides virtual screen light; a light path adjustment unit which is arranged in a nose pad area of the frame of the glasses, and changes the direction of light, transmitted from the display unit, by refracting or reflecting the light; and a light combining unit which is arranged in a lens of the glasses or in an area close to the lens of the glasses, combines a virtual screen with a real screen coming from the outside, and transmits the combined screen to eyes of a wearer. The light path adjustment unit makes the virtual screen light of which a light path has been changed be incident at an angle within a certain range to the inside of the light combining unit. According to the present invention, the virtual screen of the display unit arranged on one side is transmitted to an eye on an opposite side by changing an advancing direction of the virtual screen projected from the display unit by the light path adjustment unit. Therefore, the volume of the optical system can be minimized in comparison with an existing optical system. |
