Various embodiments relate to the operation of an input control object. One embodiment relates to an input control object operating method which can include the operations of: outputting an input control object on a display in response to an event occurring in an electronic device; moving the input control object on the display in a certain direction or at a certain rate of movement based on the first event; and performing a function corresponding to a request of the input control object based on a second event. Also, various embodiments are disclosed, and other embodiments are possible.
